can’t get in touch with buyer, item was returned back to me

i sent a buyer an item in july and it was returned back to me since they didn’t give me a good address i guess. I've been trying to get in touch with them since late july and they have not returned my ebay messages. i’m unsure of what to do. my ebay account doesn’t even have a record of the sale

I would have sent them a refund minus the shipping costs and eBay fees 2 months ago. Are you sure the sale isn't available in Seller Hub? There's a filter near the top of that linked page so you can view 90 days worth of transactions.

You're not obligated to do anything because the bad address voids MBG protections, but I would do a partial refund, then move on and relist the item for someone else to purchase.
