Hi All
I am after some advice. Bit of a long shot.
I have recently sent an item to a buyer, but I have mistakenly used the registered address instead of the Delivery address.
The Buyer moved 4 years ago and didn't update there registered address.
It's my fault, Hermes have confirmed the item was delivered to a Safe place, under a bush at the side of the house. I have looked on Google maps and the picture Hermes have sent matches with Google maps.
Any ideas how I can contact the house I have sent it to and try and get my item back and delivered to the correct address.
Thanks
Paul

Hi
Ebay sent out an email saying my Item had sold and it shows the Registered Buyers address. When the buyer pays, they send another email with the Delivery address on it. When I was creating the label in Hermes I looked at the wrong email.
Thankfully, I have now tracked the parcel down and in contact with the person who has the parcel and hopefully get it collected by the buyer.
Thanks

Some thing does not sound correct with this post.
Did you ship to the addy that was given by eBay in the order???
If so your job is done if tracking shows delivered;
It is the responsibility of the purchaser to have their ship to addy correct.
As for getting it back.... No way to do so that I know if it is some one old addy....

Hi
Unfortunately I shipped to the buyers Registered address and not the Delivery address.
When the item sold, ebay sent an email with the Buyer Registered Address and then about a hour later a payment confirmation.
When I posted the item I used the wrong address. Hermes have delivered to this address.
During conversation with the buyer, they had moved from the registered address about 4 years ago. They have moved to the otherside of the same town. I have asked if he would be willing to go around to his old house, but he won't.
So I wondered if anyone had a genius idea of how to get in contact with the address I have delivered to. I could send a letter.
Thanks Paul

The buyer is charged with having the correct delivery address on file. The eBay label will show this address.
You've done nothing wrong, if I understand correctly. Package retrieval is on the buyer.

If you sent the package to their registered address and not the one they provided with the payment, not much you can do.
Buyer will file an INR and once they get their refund, they'll go pick up the package, if they haven't already.

SOLVED..... I use a Facebook Community group and asked if anyone who live at that address would contact me. I have a couple of phone numbers to call. Hopefully they still have the item.
Thanks

Would hold off on the cheering until this really plays out to the end.
Plus, if you shipped to the address you saw when the buyer paid, I don't see that this is your responsibility, but theirs.

Sellers are required to ship to the address provided with the payment, not to an address “on file”. It doesn’t matter if the buyer never updates their address in eBay’s system, as long as they provide the correct address when they pay.

" I shipped to the buyers Registered address and not the Delivery address."
Where does one find this "Registered Address" compared to the Delivery one? Confused about that part.

Actually the person you sent the package to: get a free item if they so desire; Unsolicited items delivered to an addy, the user can if they desire keep them.
Very risky (and can be very costly) to make mistakes on shipping.

Thankfully, there are still some honest people around. The parcel has been located and the proper owner is going to collect.
I will certainly make sure any subsequent ebay deliveries have the correct address on the parcel/
Thanks

Hope your buyer is honest.
Since you shipped it to the wrong address, they can still file an INR and get a refund.

Not that you will ever do this again, but for others reading in the future it would seem that the "carrier" that delivered the item could recover it to be returned.
