Why does 1st class + 1 day handling = 10 day delivery?

Just wondering what I'm doing wrong. I have 1 day handling and 1st class USPS shipping and somehow this equals 10 days delivery time in the estimate on my listing. Other sellers selling the same thing and shipping first class have 5 days less estimated delivery time.

yeah I took a look at one of your first class shipping listings and it does say Nov 12. I'm sure your item will get to its buyer much sooner than that. I'll have to keep looking but I think top rated sellers get shorter delivery estimates than non top rated sellers for the exact same item and shipping. Whenever I check tracking, my first class shipped items get to my buyers in 2 or 3 days from when shipped. So add 1 day handling and I'm at 3-4 days. A 4-5 day estimate would be fair.

I didnt think generic standard shipping would 1. get the FAST N FEE tag  and 2. have a short delivery estimate.

Oh well, I give up, makes no sense!

On or before Tue. Nov. 12 

 The USPS says First Class and Priority are delivered in 1-3 days.  In reality First Class usually takes a bit longer.  I'm glad eBay noticed that and put it in with Standard time delivery instead of Expedited time.  

Buying today means you put it in the mail by Mon.  The 5th business day from Mon is next Tue the 12th because the PO is closed on the 11th.

That is probably the answer to my question. If I had an ebay store and more transactions per year ebay would estimate a shorter delivery time.

that would make sense except other sellers shipping 1st class get considerably shorter delivery estimates. I think the answer to my question is above this post.
