We're having trouble printing your label. We had a problem retrieving the label. [Error: 0]

I am totally new.  I printed my first label at the Fedex Kinkos store about 10 days ago, then went to do it again this past Saturday.  I received this above error, at the point I should be able to print.  eBay support had never heard of this, so she walked me through.  I had had to move to another computer, since my (Kinkos payment) card ran out of funds, in mid conversation, and I was issued another.

Ebay CS got to the same point, and the same thing happened.  We switched browsers. Nothing changed.  She put me on hold, and discovered something, and came back to tell me it is on their end and will take 3-5 hours.  It was 3 pm, meaning no shipping today, as the USPS will close.

Monday, same thing.  Now it's over 48 hours.  This different ebay CS put me on hold, and came back at times to request 'weight, hold, dimensions, hold, I'll try to clear it', fail.

I gave up, and got a Sharpie, addressed the box by hand, and went to the USPS.  It is in the mail, but I have 2 more to send now.  I need a solution.

I intend to get a label printer today.  Thinking this computer may be able to achieve printing, I tried it at home, the error is different, but at the same progression point.

There was a thread on this exact issue from 2014, and locked in 2017.  I found no solution.  I see that others had the same exact responses from CS starting 4 years ago.

They are;

Clear cache, fail,

Change browsers, fail,

Change computers, fail,

Change computers to an entirely different location, even so far as to change zip codes, fail,

'Tech Support will fix it in XX hours', fail.

'I can print it for you', fail

If anyone has a solution, I need it or I am shipping everything from the stone age, writing all addresses by hand, and looking like a jerk because of eBay issues outside of my control or ability to focus eBays' attention on for more than the duration of a phone call, and only for the single most junior CS rep ranking.  I am never offered tech support, no CS has mentioned a ticketing for issues system, and I enquired about the structure of the escalation system, and its just to different CS people in the room, so the issue moves horizontally in terms of eBay attention, not vertically up to another level of system authority level or departmental ability to get things done outside of the time on the phone, or permanently.

My impression is that this issue is, today, as you read this, unknown at any level at eBay, UNTIL your phone call or mine rings a phone, then the desire to insulate and deflect from eBay management takes precedent over a professional, focused, allotment of talent and time in order to fix this issue, which is now approximately 5 years old.

Simply put, my conclusion is that Management at eBay does not care to be available to communicate, and therefore does not take this issue to IT to get it fixed.

In a truly professional world, this would not recur, as it has.

I would point out that all companies have such issues, but here is an example of how they can be addressed.

I worked at AACargo.  I was the voice over the phone at the Freight Forwarders Desk.  I was known to the Management there as being tenacious and demanding, on a factual level, not a sentiment or emotional level.  That is to say I respected superiors by actions and ability, not merely cowering under threat of a response from someone in management who refused to follow systemic procedures, no matter who they were.

(For instance I received an email berating me for misusing the bomb threat response system erroniously, and threatening retraining, from a previous departmental manager.  My response to her was, "did you listen to the tape?"....never heard another word.  Obviously, someone who did not listen, communicated to her that I was wrong, and she did not do the necessary, common sense work to find out, they just assumed I made a mistake, while there is the trigger word in plaain language on the tape)

Along comes the President of AACargo, on a facilities tour.  He is the guy who sees Bob Crandall daily, and runs about 7 billion dollars of Americans' revenue.  He is also, at the time the Chairman of IATA.  The international NGO that makes every rule pursuant to operations in civilian and commercial aviation...you know your city code for your airport? IATA issues that, no one else.

I skip the meeting, however, that day my boss comes and asks me, 'so are you going to the meeting'..me: 'nahhhh', why not? Nothing will change, it has no value, he doesnt want to know anything I know is wrong.

Boss; You'll be at the meeting.

At the meeting, that President says 'I am about to open up this meeting to a broad issues oriented exchange, I want to know that is going on.  I have my home phone number in the book, in public, in Dallas, because I want to know.  Irate customers call my home. I try to find out, let me know, etc.....any questions?

No hands, I look at my boss, he looks at me, up goes my hand.

I unfold a 9 page printout from an issue that just occurred in the last hour, I am direct and factual in how this negatively affects cargo bookings, and revenue.  The solution we use is to call Revenue Management, a division placed right outside his VPs corner office, and very important. Revenue = Money for AACargo.  RM then berates us about their oh, so 'valueable' time.  This call the them is absolutely the systemic solution directed down to all with revenue, and space allocation issues, yet we get yelled at for doing it.

The peons who wanted to get free time off for a break, and the other Managers are big eyed and tense.

I don't care, this needs a fix.

He points at me, in front of everyone, and says, "You'll be in the meeting tomorow", meaning, you fly up to Dallas and meet with him, VP, RM, and others.  My boss got what he wanted, but maneuvered to not be getting any heat.

A professional leader WANTS to know, wants to hear, wants to be accessible.  I see no one at even the lowest level at eBay, so far, that wants me to be able to reach them, including the lady at the first reception desk if I wallked into that building.

My modern solution is now to ignore eBay deflection, and insulation, and call the YTer in Chicago who stated he has a Concierge issued to him by eBay because he complains, and 100k people watch his video, and thousands of comments occur.

He is important, and eBay acts like it.

You are not, and I am not. EBay acts like it.

Actions speak louder than words.

5 year old known issues, discussed on eBay, allowed to continue by eBay, are a specific action.

@marhaugste_0- I confess that I only read the very beginning of your post because it was really long, but it sounds like you're looking for more shipping options.

Go to the PayPal transaction and print a shipping label from there. If that doesn't work then the issue is probably tied to the settings on the kinkos computer.

Why not invest a small amount in an inexpensive printer?

Ebay/PayPal error messages are often misleading.  This message can occur for a couple of reasons.

Check that any credit/debit card on PayPal hasn't expired, even if you have cash funds to pay for a label.

Check that there is no problem with your Return Address or the customer's Shipping Address by checking the exact official format at:  https://tools.usps.com/go/ZipLookupAction_input

Try shipping from the PayPal payment transaction.

The Kinkos computers are extremely slow, and appear quite dated, while I have a gaming computer.  I tried to print here as well.

I just was recommended Pirate Shiop, and their pricing is over 10% less for the same Priority mail, so I shall probably be doing that.

I will buy a label printer in the next 3 days, I just opened this from CL where I see one I want.

I immeditely checked the card, $over 800 balance as I thought.

The card has been issued in the last 90 days, and expires in '21.

I used it immediately after leaving.

Address info was fine at USPS, labelled by hand.

This forum has a closed thread on this very issue.  Ebay has had the issue since 2014, but I found no solutions.

I will admit I knew nothing of printing from PP.  Once I have my printer, I will take the cheapest option for the same Priority Mail service level.  I used to work at AACargo, so my grasp of specifics in shipping is more advanced than average.  I worked with Freight Forwarders on both Domestic and International shipping, and was one of the go to guys for International shipping of Human Remains, and Live Animals, especially shipments requiring interline connections.  Some shipping for live animals requires you to even consider the Earths rotational direction to be able to time the animal into a foreign desitination within parameters.

So, I just mean I am tenacious, and I will get this done the best way.
