Warning from Ebay when I request a return and shipping fees

I really resent the fact that I get messages from ebay when I go to make a return saying, "you recently made a return for the same reason, this could affect your ability to make returns in the future."

If I buy something from a seller and it is not as described, or defective, I should have every right to return each and any items that I purchase, in these cases.

Like it's my fault the sellers aren't clear on their descriptions or do not know about the item they are selling?????????????????

It's horrible that sellers get preferential treatment, and can do no wrong.

I realize they are the group that butters the bread of ebay executives but come on people!!!  Let's be fair and honest.

The extra fees sellers add on to the cost of shipping is also ridiculous and in my opinion the buyer, THE PERSON THAT HAS TO PAY FOR SHIPPING, should be able to choose the method of shipping.  If I don't want to pay insurance for an item or priority shipping I shouldn't have to., with the understanding the $5 item is lost in the mail or damaged, I can't ask for a refund.  Is that so difficult to understand?

Many sellers ship because it is a convenience for them, who cares what it costs the buyer.

Clearly, I don't have to buy the item with the listed shipping costs, and why I typically will ask a seller if there are other options before I make a bid.  Many are willing to work with you, and others just flat out won't consider it.  Those are the sellers that lose my bids.

Ebay, there are many areas of improvement that should be made afterall, if it wasnt for the buyers, you would have no sellers!!!!

Sometimes you can run into poor descriptions, or inaccurate descriptions.  Having said that, it is part of buyer's due diligence to ask questions, and zoom each picture, read the description, check the feedback the seller has received and has given, etc.

I buy a lot and do all I can to avoid returns but sometimes they happen.  I have even asked questions and received wrong answers in several instances, such as is there any damage?  I see this in this picture.  What is it? and been told it was camera glare or that the item was undamaged.  Then it comes and it is damaged or they catch the damage before packing.  So some are inevitabel but I do all I can to avoid a return.

Having said that, an excess of returns, particularly for the same reason, is cause for concern for Ebay and sellers.  No offense but you might be buying before you fully consider the item.  The MBG is not meant to protect you from taking undue chances with your purchases.

If there are other shipping options, they are generally listed in the listing under the shipping and payments tab.  If there are no other options listed, that means the seller will not ship any other way and should not be contacted for such.  Shipping is not just the cost of shipping, there are supplies, markers, papers, packing materials, etc.  If you don't like shipping cost, and it seems this is an issue for you, don't buy.   Do what makes you happy.

Buying from China and having quality issues is on you because it was your choice to buy from there when it can hurt your account.  Also with all due respect, bid retractions and cancellations should be rarely if ever used.  All these things can reflect a buyer that is not serious or responsible, and that can negatively impact your buying privileges.  There is a HIGH RISK BUYER PROGRAM that ebay has put buyers into until they can show that they are not high risk.

You may not know that negotiating shipping, especially after the sale, is asking for something that is not in the listing and is a reportable violation.  Just a few of those and you won't be able to buy from thousands of sellers.

Sellers also block for bid cancellations.

BTW I am a buyer.

"I suggest you say "Return for Refund" and get what you can get back..."

But that's not the point.

The buyer's  need to check out the sellers ID  and Location  in the item listing  ,because  of Chinese sellers do list  sell  on  ebay.com U.S.  .Which have caused  problems and headaches  for  U.S. sellers.

Ok so what’s the point responding to a post that is over 5 weeks old? The OPs issue is already over.

Okay, how about just delete the whole entire post and all the replies then, because now that it's old it certainly isn't relevant, right??? SMH

That’s now how it works, threads are locked not deleted after a certain amount of time. as far as new replies there is NO reason to keep the thread going because the OPs issue is over with 🙂
