Hello everyone,
So I’m having this particular issue with this recent transaction, a graphics card I bought. Item was promptly shipped and everything went fine until it got to this Consolidation Center in Miami. As it arrived there, the courier in charge of transporting it to my country (Chile) contacted me, asking me to pay for custom duties to proceed the shipping. Now that didn’t come as a surprise as I had previously bought other items internationally before; and I’m 100% willing to pay, but it won’t let me. They only accept credit cards as paying method, and none of my family has one. We tried using Visa debit card but didn’t work, stating there was an error in our payment method. It’s actually a shame that an international postage service doesn’t fully support international payment methods (such as PayPal, for that matter).
I don’t know what should I do now, I could just wait for the parcel to eventually return to the seller, but I don’t know if I’ll get a refund that way, especially since the seller got suspended/kicked out of eBay.
Lastly, I really don’t trust the chosen post service either so as to ask a friend to lend me his credit card. SkyPostal doesn’t seem to be a very popular courier, plus I’ve tried to contact them regarding my issue, writing to every email address I could find on their websites, getting no response at all. Also, the web page of the logistics company (Air Facility Logistics) that was meant to bring my parcel to Chile doesn’t longer exist, and the link found at the bottom of the email I got from SkyPostal, “www.secureimport.us”, leads to nowhere (though www.secureimport.com does exist). Such things, of course, only arise my worries about the legitimacy of this. What sucks the most is that I paid almost 50 bucks for shipping, thus you’d expect more professionalism and a decent customer service.
So please what advice would you give me? Thank you in advance.
