Just a heads up because I don't know what is going on but I wanted to share what happened at my household...
A member of my household buys stuff on here on a different ID, they buy only, don't sell. They buy some pricier items, so occasionally, they come signature required. There were 2 in the past 6 weeks that required a signature.
The first one, the person looked on their phone and it said it was delivered, and signed for and left with individual... Well, the signature wasn't even the person's name, and it was left by our garage door.
The second one just came this past Monday. This time the signature was the recipient's name signed (last name spelled wrong) and said "left with individual" but was left in our mailbox.
So my household member went to the PO and talked to the woman there to complain about that... (she is one of the head people there, any time we have had any issue and have talked to her, she knows what's she's talking about, she's not someone that just says whatever to make you go away).
She said it's due to COVID and have people handle the signature pad and thing and going to people's doors... so the mail man signed for them himself.
Has anyone else had this happen? Because, I mean, at least ring my doorbell, don't just sign and dump it where ever, because if the package disappears, the recipient it SOL.
AND my last problem with this is.... is the USPS charging for a signature service? Because if they are and mail carriers can sign for it themselves, they have a HECK of a lot of nerve charging for that service..
I personally would have had a more in depth conversation with the woman, but it wasn't my package with my name and fake signatures so... that's all I got.

Have seen posts, and notices that carriers, not just USPS would not be getting those signatures due to Covid, but they should not just be leaving the items all over the place.
Not getting an "individual" receiving the package to sign is understandable, but just leaving the package does not seem to meet to intent of the "don't touch my signature pad" policy.
Give USPS "consumer affairs" a call about it.

Awesome, great idea. Yeah, I get the not wanting people to touch the pad... but like, ring my bell and leave it, don't just leave it where ever. I also don't know why they haven't suspended the entire signature process and any fees they might still be charging if it's just a fake signature anyway.
Anyways, thank you for your response and advice 🙂

Had this happen to us 2 months ago. My son was expecting a very expensive gaming system while I was home alone, and he warned me that it would require a signature. I see the delivery man pull in, run out the back to avoid arguing with our dog, and then get to the front of the house just as the driver's getting back in his truck. I asked him about signing for it, and he just shrugged and said he signed it himself. I've watched several other drivers do this, but fortunately they've always left everything at my front door.

All the major carriers have issued statements about the Covid-19 changes to signatures.
Basically the delivery person should be using some discretion but if the recipient is a familiar customer and they always leave it on the porch they will sign for it and leave it there if they feel it's safe.
If you are receiving Fedex or UPS you can sign up for their free account and use the website or app to enter delivery instructions for your deliveries.
I would recommend doing that if you have concerns. I believe USPS has a similar option but I have not used it myself.
Ebay still requires signature confirmation to be purchased on items $750 and up for the seller to be protected. It does not have to be signed for by the buyer but it is needed for seller protection.

File a case with the seller

Sorry but after 3 years it's not an option.
