USPS shipping Black Friday price increase???

I had multiple copies of the same record I was selling. When a sale is over a certain value, I use USPS Ground Advantage instead of Media Mail for the insurance. Shipping for copies that I sold on Friday and Saturday was $9.17US. Seemed high, but I needed to get them out. Today, Sunday, go to buy shipping for another copy which will ship on Monday. It's the same size and weight as the previous 2 days, and now it's $7.35US. So did USPS charge extra for Black Friday shipping, or did eBay do that?

There was no price increase @deadwaxmusic .

$9.17 is the online price to ship a 2 lb package Ground Advantage to zone 6.

$7.35 is the online price to ship a 2 lb package Ground Advantage to zone 4.

The difference is how far away the buyer lives. Rate is always different based on how far the package has to travel (unless you're using Priority Flat Rate packaging or shipping a letter/flat).

I just read this elsewhere a few minutes before. I only recently started using the Ground Advantage and realize now that I interpreted wrong exactly how it worked.

Ground Advantage is just a new name after the merger of Parcel Select Ground and First Class package shipping. So it works the same way that those two services worked.
