You all may already be aware, but I am a bit shocked that the post office still charges for signed receipt of package/letter & does not require the receiver to sign it. The mail carrier signs it. Then it is left on the porch or wherever for thieves to steal. This because of covid. Why charge for it & not do it?

It can be frustrating on the buyers end, too. I recently had a package delivered that required a signature (3K+ purchase). I made special arrangements to ensure I would be home that day. The final scan was "left with agent for final delivery" (or words to that effect) and the package was left against my garage door. If it hadn't been for the text notification that Informed Delivery sends on delivery, I shudder to think what could have happened.

Yep USPS is setting them selves up for a law suit with the loss they have created.
Going to get worse as there funding gets cut more also......
