And who didn't see this coming? Here's a link to a CNN story explaining what they are up to.

I don't even want to think about it.

Please consider the source. They are part of the "Sky-is-falling" clan. Your post should be moved to shipping at the very least. People should quit posting news, news opinions, and politics. They have nothing to do with why this community board exists. News stories like this, no matter where they are generated, are for sheep. Ask yourself what are they trying to sell you today?
As far as the USPS wanting to work with DOGE, they absolutely should. The waste is terrible, as I retired from the USPS after 30 years. Today's news shows DOGE canceling 200,000 government-issued credit cards. I could tell you stories about this subject in the USPS. Tons of fraud and theft. Employees would buy event tickets, groceries, anything, and everything, but the most popular was to put vacations on their Gov't cards. Most thought it was okay to do when they got caught. The next card DOGE needs to go after is the Gov't Fleet cards for purchasing fuel. Many would fill up all of the family cars on a regular basis, including gas for their mowers on the Fleet cards. One of my accounting tasks was to check the mileage on the vehicles against the gallons purchased on the cards. Two MPG isn't normal for any car, ya think. And everyone here wonders why the USPS fails to perform, even by their own standards.

Yeah, don't you just hate it when the media doesn't just jump on the Golden Age of America bandwagon?
So....it's your opinion that people should quit posting opinions on here?

Of course Dejoy is willing to hand over the USPS, he's walking out with a big Ole retirement check for a couple years of work.

“The DOGE team was gracious enough to ask for the big problems they can help us with,” DeJoy wrote in the letter.
The fix is in.

DeJoy wrote and mailed that letter 3 weeks ago, but it didn't get delivered until today.

Do you have an issue comprehending reading? I won't repeat myself. Read it again until it gets through. Nice try though. Thanks for proving my point.😁

That's alright, I already had to read it 5 times while you kept adding more political blather.

You must write for CNN unless you can name your source. My last reply folks on this one. Fantasy-card-seller proved my point and I have better things to do with my time. You may continue to waste your time though and complain of poor or no sales and wonder why.

Well, shipping prices were going up, anyway. With privatization they'll go up even faster, but it's still gonna happen.
03-13-2025 05:16 PM
Well, now you're just repeating yourself, which you promised not to do.

Privatizing the Postal Service is probably a lot less profitable than you initially think.
1) The new owner would have to pay property taxes on tens of thousands of Post Offices.
2) The new owner would need to increase prices to create a profit motive for themselves.
3) The new owner would need to increase prices to pay for all manner of taxes.
There are legal obstacles like the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970

There are constitutional obstacles like Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution

"DeJoy argues in the letter USPS retirement assets and the Workers’ Compensation Program have been “mismanaged,” creating a financial hole that its leaders have struggled to dig out of."
Someone might want to tell DeJoy that it was his own political party that intentionally created that particular financial hole. Meanwhile all those rural red state folks might want to think about what it will be like to drive to your nearest post office to pick up your mail if USPS were to be privatized.
