USPS International Tracking

I recently mailed a parcel to England Express shipping (Customer paid)  and advised by the Post Office a guaranteed delivery date.  It arrived one week later than advised.  USPS advertise that if not received by guarantee date shipping will be refunded.  I put in a claim but was denied because they say it was held in Customs more than 24 hours . Checking the tracking information which  I was able to get from the Post Office (more information than online tracking information) it appears that it took 6 days to get from the Post Office to Customs.  I am disputing their decision but cannot find what USPS call "event codes" on their print out.

Tracking ....

accepted at Post Office in Colorado Springs 3rd October with guarantee delivery by 9th October in England.processed though Denver 6th October     (3 days to go approximately 60 miles!)

Arrival in Customs in San Francisco......9th October ...late in the day.

after that I can understand all the codes.....delivered in England on the 16th October.

Is there a Post Office worker who can help me with the code "NT" before I argue my claim with them.????
