USPS Damage Claim

Anonymous
Not applicable

Buyer received a USPS shipment that was crushed and damaged the contents.  I submitted a claim along with photos of the shipping carton and the damaged contents.  I also submitted a PDF of the eBay "Order Details" page which includes all the details of the transaction with the exception of the seller information and it does not show eBay as the payment network, so the claim was denied.

Where do I find the order details to correctly submit a claim?  Thank you!usps claim info.jpg

USPS Damage Claim

Sorry you're running into this @Anonymous. It's a major flaw in eBay's managed payments system that they're not providing info sellers need to file USPS insurance claims.

Please follow the instructions in this post and create the document needed to appeal your claim.

USPS Damage Claim

I read that post and it says he created the document, but where did he find all that pertinent information so that it's verifiable that it came from Ebay and that he didn't 'create' it.

I'm just being pessimistic and trying to plan ahead on a shipment in progress.

USPS Damage Claim

It's about time eBay got off it's backside and supported sellers by providing this information in an easily accessible manner. With the fees ebay collects, it should be easy for them to consolidate the requested info into a single transaction report - but then, when has ebay ever supported a seller?

I got the same letter from USPS , what other documentation can we provide.  I called Ebay support about this. They said no one had contacted them previously.  Ebay needs to know that USPS is not accepting eBay's documentation as an invoice.  I was out $100 plus shipping.
