This is not a jab at you, nor should it be misconstrued in any way. I'm not making light of your situation. But:

Items shipped through any carrier absolutely must be wrapped/ padded/  boxed to withstand an eight foot drop onto concrete and a 50 pound weight dropping onto it. Whatever you are shipping, picture it being thrown full force down a flight of stairs.

USPS has their hands full shipping millions of packages, that's their job.

Sellers using their service must pack those items in enough material to get them there... That's the seller's job.

Completely agree! If a seller is having continuous items damaged, there seems to be something wrong in how they are being packaged. There will always be an exception, that one item which got completely destroyed, but multiples, sounds like the issue begins at packaging....

I had an expensive Civil War era daguerrotype photo mailed to me in a regular standard letter sized envelope without padding. It was destroyed.

And no, I wasn't mad at the USPS.

I hope that you opened an item not as described case too.   Those are rare.  What a dumb seller!

Sold a lamp back in July... double boxed, SUPER padded, sent Priority Mail with extra insurance. "FRAGILE" stickers all over the box. Packed to withstand a tornado.

Arrived broken. I refunded the buyer immediately.  Opened an insurance claim with photos. Was denied. Even my local postmaster worked on it for me and was denied.

Not sure what USPS insurance is supposed to cover, besides loss. It used to be they would make good on covering damage THEY caused.

From stories I've read on here, including yours, I can understand  the insurance complaint. It really does appear their insurance is rubbish.
