Tracking number

I need to put a tracking number in the purchase history of an item I returned in order to get my refund.  I didn't use the ebay return label.  Seller has the returned item but when he tries to do the refund, the system errors out.  I have the tracking number because I used usps.  The direction ebay gives is not clear on how to add the tracking number.  Can someone help?  I did put the information in the added notes but there's no where for me to mark the item as shipped in the details to update the status to get the refund.

The seller should be able to issue the refund even though you didn't enter the tracking, ebay just can't FORCE the seller to refund you without tracking in the request.

These are the only instructions I have to share:

Adding tracking to your return

Adding tracking details to your return helps protect against delays or issues in the refund process. If you use an eBay returns label, tracking details are automatically uploaded.

Here’s how to add the tracking information to your return if you’re using your own return shipping label:

  1. Go to the return request in Purchase History.
  2. Select the shipping carrier from the dropdown list. If you select Other, enter the carrier name.
  3. Enter the tracking number.
  4. Select Mark as sent.

You may need to contact customer service for help.  You can contact cs from the bottom of this help page
