The Global Shipping Program Farce

This program is yet another way that EBAY eschews their 'committment' to the buyers and markets totally in the tank for sellers who want an easier way to navigate their sales without the responsibility of following through.  It is not only redundant with the advent of the PayPal guarantee, it is so poorly managed that when we have an issue (nine times out of ten) we are routed through Asia for contacts and then advised that Global Shipping is somehow outside o the purview of EBAY reps and is handled by Pitney Bowes.  Then, just try to call them and if you succeed in getting through and navigate the Musak and hold time, another rep named "Jane" will advise you that they have no idea where the item is and will suggest you call EBAY to look into the matter further.  This is disgusting business acumen and something that should earn EBAY disgrace in their poor design and managment of this idiocy masquerading as policy.

Wouldn't go near that program.  Why would you pay a middle man when most times you can ship the item internationally yourself?

Better still, rule out international shipping and just ship US Only.  Headache gone.

The Global Shipping Program Farce

Global Shipping is ridiculous. As a longtime eBay customer (since 1998) on both sides of the US/Canada border, I recently purchased an item from a seller in Oregon. The GSP program then sent it to Kentucky, then to Ontario, and back to me on the West Coast of Canada. The GSP program is expensive, extremely bad for the environment (why ship something that far out of the way?), and illogical. I increasingly find myself purchasing from other sources (including overseas) in order to avoid eBay. I'd rather pay a nominal fee and duties through Canada Post than waste my time with GSP.

I never had a problem and I sell 2 to 3 items a month that go through the GSP and they get delivered fast and on time.  I get positive feedback from my customers.  I do not want the headache dealing with customs and other fees.
