Take a moment to pause for the UPS driver killed today in California.

I never worked for UPS but did for the USPS for 33 years. I retired as a Postmaster and my primary concern was for my carriers each and every day. I had both city and rural carriers. Although I never lost any of my family of employees, many adjacent offices did, including a young woman Postmaster out delivering an Express in the Rural countryside. I couldn't begin to recall all of the delivery people killed due to accidents in my years of service. 90% were the results of other drivers. There were many.

Many comments here are critical of delivery carriers and clerks. The world isn't perfect. Today a UPS delivery employee was lost due to a plane crash in California - wrong place at the wrong time. We all have a tendency to find the negative in things. Take time to thank your delivery person no matter which delivery service. They are human beings and most are honestly trying hard to serve our country. I realize this post may be unusual. Thanks for your time and have a great day.

So true. Your life is on the line when you get behind the wheel. And even at work at USPS because someone can go "postal" on you.  Thank you for everyone who is moving the mail!

Yes, it was very sad. May have steered the Cessna away from the school 3 blocks away. Like a doomed pilot in Texas deliberately crashed into trees instead, just short of Connally High School.
