Well Here is the scoop I shipped 5 PWE eBay Standard Envelope for Trading Cards, Stamps, Postcards & Coins up to $20 on 12/24/2021. All card were delivered to the post office they were open. went in to the out of town slot. 4 envelopes still show no tracking with a delivery date of the 3rd. the 5th one shows out for delivery since the 12/302021 and still not delivered anyone having issues. as well. This is really becoming a problem. Spoke with Ebay Chat on the 28th and said they are having problems and marked me down as one of them. Now I am concerned that They will never be delivered and I will be on the hook for a possible refund although they said on line I will not. Hemm Buyer always wins.

I didn't think eBay Standard Envelope showed tracking.

Yes it does When it get to the corresponding state local. I have other cards I have send after the dates above that have been delivered. Otherwise if there is no tracking how would you ever know they have been delivered and everyone would claim they never received the card.

I think @heckofagame means that Acceptance and in-transit scans are very rare, all that is promised is a delivery scan.

I sell sports cards and use the eBay standard envelope. Must admit the tracking on these is inconsistent. I've tried to hand delivery them to a USPS counter and been told they do not upload the tracking on site. Could be because my PO is very rural and small. Bright side = I've never had a buyer contact me with a delivery issue. Best of luck in the New Year.

Yes, that is what I meant.

Technically, tracking shows the progress as it moves through the system. This method does not have that. The acceptance scans were intended to be done by automation. People at the windows cannot scan these in. Then you are supposed to get a delivery scan. It's not perfect, but there is a reason for the low price.

It will probably eventually show delivered. No need to worry so much as 99% of people are honest. I have shipped many cards without tracking and only one person in all this time has ever claimed the card was not delivered. Also with the exception of one card you sold they all sold for only $1. Hopefully you are only worried about the one the was expensive.

I buy cards that are shipped in those.
As mentioned, tracking is funky and inconsistent.
Tracking in some places show item as delivered, when it is at the final sorting facility not the buyers address.
They have been sloooow.... but they do show up. I just got one I bought on the 24th or 25th from CA and I am in TX.
There were a lot of holiday days during its introduction to the US mail system.
I would not loose sleep at this time.
Good luck!

The standard envelope system remains as flawed as it was when it was introduced. You get what you pay for.

Hi,
MY post office isn't rural & they dont scan them. They get scanned while going through a sorter from what I've been told. I've literally sent over a 500 cards this way & have had I think 2 not make it to the destination. One of the better thing ebay has done. Saves money for buyer & seller

I have sent 650 letters using ese since July . none lost which doesn't surprise me first class letters are rarely lost. 2-3 took 15 days . I gave 2 returns for nervous buyers but they did receive letters eventually. I agree that tracking is spotty tho. What I do is mail item and just forget it. For nervous buyers I ask for patience.

Fortunately, most buyers are happy to receive the item and are never even tempted to rip you off.
