why am I being asked to pay postage, which I mistaking do. seller also pays postage. lost a lot of money this year.

When making a purchase, the buyer pays the postage along with the item price and the state sales tax, if applicable.

The seller then uses that postage payment to pay the cost of shipping.  

Not sure whether you're asking as a seller or as a buyer.

Seller. It asks me to purchase the label after buyer pays. I notice in my earnings that I'm receiving considerably less and not compensated for clicking on purchasing the address label when asked.

Can you show a screen shot where the buyer is not paying the shipping cost, or is paying less than he should be paying? 

You don't get "compensated" on purchasing the label.  The buyer pays you for shipping and you then use those funds to buy the label.  Is the shipping fee shown in the listing which the buyer pays not enough to cover the shipping cost? How could that happen?
