Shipping "What's up with this??"

Hi There,

I am a Seller now but bought something and now knowing a lot more about the shipping process I knew $25 was too much to ship this 3 lb. item.     After a quick negotiation we ended up agreeing that a credit would be given to me for any overage of the actual shipping label price.    With good faith I went forward "knowing" a credit would be given to me.

I was told no credit.

When the package got here the weight and dimensions were correct in my $13.50 label estimate.  Why then did I pay $25 and denied a credit.  (remember only the label price was the negotiated price).

Well it turns out the label price is $40 which is shown on the box and what they are eluding to.

A.  It should have been $13.50.

B.  Why did I pay $25 for shipping with the denial of the overage because.......

C.  The Seller paid $40 for the Priority 2 day label.

What am I missing?  If this is correct they paid $15 more than the outrageous $25 which should of been $13.

message boxes have no bearing on an ebay deal.you can think you made a deal but lying in a message box is not covered

if a seller told you to close a return for a refund do you think thats covered.....you woud be told by a CSR you shoudnt have closed the return

your seller is a gracious seller and you were given a good deal on shipping

message boxes have no bearing on an invoice when its sent

promises of a shipping refund are just not binding with ebay but an invoice is

Question #1:

did you negotiate before or after the purchase??

And size of the box??

Also such may be they,

preferred a larger box, better protection.

A faster shipping method due to USPS problems and decided to not risk lesser methods of shipping and the delays.

Not all shippers will use your methods of packing to ship an item. They may have been aware of such USPS problems and decided to not risk lesser methods of shipping and the delays.

The method with fixed shipping it to total the amount and then see if you are willing to pay such> if not make then an offer that with the total  minus the shipping that would work for you:

Saves you the worry about shipping costs.

It seems like you have chosen to learn an important lesson the hard way.

When the shipping cost as seen in the listing appears exorbitant, you will find that the back arrow comes in handy.

And that would be the end of it -- no further communication, no negotiation about shipping costs.
