Shipping price question

I apologize ahead of time as this may seem to be silly to ask, but I just can't seem to find a concrete answer. I haven't sold on Ebay in a few years. I was looking at the value of some of my PS3 games and decided I'd sell some. Before choosing shipping I decided to use the calculator and this is where I'm confused. Did shipping on a 6x9 bubble wrap envelope almost triple in price? I'm seeing for a "Letter, 6x9x0, 4oz, the cheapest shipping outside of media mail is $7.65. I used to sell games somewhat frequently and shipping was pretty standard at $2.65 or so. Is this correct or am I do something wrong?

If using a ebay shipping label, a small padded envelope with a video game inside should ship First Class Mail.

1 oz. = $3.18

2 oz. = $3.18

3 oz. = $3.18

4 oz = $3.18

5 oz. = $3.67

6 oz. = $3.67

7 oz. = $3.67

8 oz. = $3.67

9 oz. = $4.46

10 oz. = $4.46

11 oz. = $4.46

12 oz. = $4.46

13 oz. = $5.70

14 oz. = $5.70

15 oz.  = $5.70

Shipping price question

Those are the prices for zone 8?  Depending on where the op's buyer is their cost may be slightly cheaper.

It could go First class package for those prices, first class letter rate is less but does not include delivery confirmation nor does ebay offer letter rate labels

This is a user to user board not eBay employees.

Shipping price question

You could use the ebay calculator on your listings but when choosing first class parcel, make sure that under package TYPE you don't check off letter or envelope. Even if you are using a bubble envelope check off 'package' so that the buyer is charged for first class parcel. Otherwise, they will be charged for a first class flat which is basically lettermail without tracking and with size restriction.s

Shipping price question

As noted in the first reply, you can send your item as a First Class package for $5.70 or less depending on the package weight (up to 15.99 ounces) and on where your buyer lives.

The person who posted those prices lives in Hawaii and might have forgotten that all package postage, even First Class, depends on distance. If your package weighs 4 ounces or less, the price range for eBay labels would be $2.74 - $3.18. Set up your listing with calculated shipping based on the actual weight of your packed item.

That $7.65 price that you saw was for Priority Mail, but you can use First Class package.

USPS divides all First Class pieces into 3 categories: letters, flats (AK Large envelopes) and packages. You can't send your game as a letter, because the maximum allowed thickness for a letter is 1/4 inch.

This was my mistake. Choosing Package shows standard services now. Thanks!

You are correct.  I keep forgetting everybody doesn't live in Hawaii.  😉
