I am wondering if it is possible to ship from an alternate location. I am in Wisconsin and would like to sell some things for my brother in Montana. Rather than have him ship everything to me (some heavier items), it would be much easier to have me ship them from there. Any help would be appreciated.

How will you separate his sales from yours? Anything you sell on your account will be included in your 1099K.

Have you considered having your brother open his own eBay selling account?
That way, any income will be on his account, and any issues with a buyer would be his to resolve.

Does your brother know how to ship safely? Are you willing to take possible bad feedback for his mistakes? I'd be more inclined to teach them how to sell and leave me out.

I think you would also need to change the Ship From ZIP code on your Shipping form when the time comes to ship it. The Return address could be either that of the OP or that of his brother - depending on who wants to handle a possible return.

One can do such as stated: but very inadvisable. You are responsible for all taxes as well as any returns, refunds and of course late shipping or no shipping, non receipt of items by purchaser etc... Are you willing to take the risk they will cooperate with such????

Just to be clear: are you asking what would need to be changed if he is doing the shipping of whatever you sell for him, or are you are definitely saying (in your last sentence above) that you plan to go out to Montana and do your own shipping for him?
Reason I ask is that if you're not out there in person, are you relying on him to do the photos and descriptions as well as the shipping? If so, it might be better to show him how to set up his own account, and learn to sell and ship the items himself.

There is a lot of good advice here @diku_3694 and I agree that it would be better for your brother to set up his own account.
The advice about buyer claims, adequate shipping and the impact on your taxes are some of the bigger issues, but I'll add some things that others didn't mention:
Changing the shipping location for some items could trigger a drop-shipper tag on your account and result in suspension. If you're determined to sell these items for your bro then you should get approval from US-based customer service so your account isn't affected in that way. You can find US reps on eBay's Facebook and Twitter DMs.
If you set up an account (or log in to an account) for your brother then your 2 accounts will be linked. If he gets suspended then you get suspended. So if you help him set up an account, make sure you do not log in - just help over the phone or FaceTime.

Thanks for your input. It will only be a few items so I'm ok working out the income with him.

Thanks so much for your input. I greatly appreciate it. He does not have regular access to internet and is only looking at selling a couple items.

After reading everyone's comments, I think it might be advisable to have him ship to me to ship as I always do. While he is responsible and I trust him to do a good job, there are the occasional returns and other issues. Then there is the income. Thank you everyone for your input.
