Shipping fees are showing same rates for USPS First Class and USPS Priority Mail on some listings

Has anybody noticed that, if you offer both USPS First Class shipping and USPS Priority Mail as shipping options for a particular item, that the prices displayed for both services are that of Priority Mail.  Listings I already had posted are fine, but when adding a new listing today, it shows the issue.

I think something is amiss on Ebay's servers.  Either that, or the Postal Service hiked the rates.  Anyone else notice this issue?  Thanks in advance.

The shipping calculator in eBay listings defaults to show the retail prices for USPS postage. In your site preferences, you can switch to the online rates if you prefer.

At retail pricing, the weight limit for First Class packages is 13 ounces. So if you enter a weight above that (but not above the online weight limit of 16 ounces), the shipping calculator will do the same as the clerk at the PO counter: Upgrade to the 1-pound rate for Priority Mail.

Shipping fees are showing same rates for USPS First Class and USPS Priority Mail on some listings

Thank you for your answer.  Puzzing...  as of yesterday, these listings were showing correctly, lower rate for USPS First Class, higher rate for Priority.  Today, they are showing the same rates on some listings I have not touched in weeks.

But, in following your suggestion, I would like to check where this setting is for Retail Pricing versus Ebay pricing.  I am not using the shipping calculator, I am looking at my actual listings and today, they are showing same prices for both services, which did not happen when I listed the items.

Do you happen to know where this setting is in site preferences?  I have looked and cannot seem to find it.

Thanks again!

Thank you, you are correct, anything over 13 oz. is automatically upgraded to Priority Mail.  Sometimes I get confused after I sleep.  Getting old....

Thanks again!

" I am not using the shipping calculator, I am looking at my actual listings "

I meant that the shipping calculator in listings that automatically shows the shipping cost to the location of the member who's looking at the listing. It defaults to show retail prices for all services.

"Do you happen to know where this setting is in site preferences? "

It's in shipping preferences, called "Offer carrier-specific discounts for buyers".

Thank you so much @nobody*s_perfect   I just glossed over that setting, apparently.

When I offer calculated 1st class and calculated priority, and the weight is not custom (13 oz, 8 oz, 4 oz) and i let it stay 'below 1 lb', the cost is the same. $8.70 I believe.  If I input a weight of 12 oz or less, it changes for 1st class.
