Shipping From USPS, Not using Ebay Labels

How do I mark an item shipped and add a tracking number if I'm shipping directly from USPS and not buying/printing the labels ebay offers?

Go to your orders page and click Add Tracking @allis-hathc.

If you purchase postage through eBay, not only will the tracking number be entered automatically, but you will pay the discounted online Commercial rate for the postage.

For instance, shipping 2 pounds to Zone 8 via Priority Mail costs $12.66 for eBay postage rates but $16.10 at the Post Office (or through USPS's Click N Ship online).

As above... click the little Down Arrow in the Actions column for the sold item, and you will find links to Mark As Shipped and to Add Tracking Number.

However, if you're not buying your labels on-line, you are missing some significant discounts as well as giving yourself the hassle of having to upload tracking numbers manually (and accurately!).

If this is a not-having-a-working-printer issue, getting an inexpensive inkjet will pay for itself in postage savings pretty quickly. Over the years I've bought several at garage sales for around $5-$10 each, downloaded the drivers from the manufacturers' website (if Windows didn't recognize the printer as soon as I plugged it in), and that was pretty much it. (If you're selling a lot, get a used laser printer instead, and you may go for ages before eventually needing a new toner cartridge.)

You actually don't even need a printer anymore.

If you go to the "Ship Your Order" tab and scroll down you have an option of clicking

"Print Label" or "QR Code" where I guess you can save the code to your phone and then when you get to the post office they scan it and print the label. You still pay for it up front. Not really sure how it works as I've never used it.

I've seen that new option, yes. However, this would definitely increase the amount of time spent getting that all done at the counter, not to mention the blank stare that you would receive if finding yourself with a clerk who has never seen that before and doesn't know the procedure.

I much prefer to just print the label at home and be done with it; the package is ready to go as soon as I head out the door, and there will be a minimum of complication at the PO.
