Hi, first time poster. I wanted to share my experience with a recent purchase.
Back in April, I purchaed a lot of 200 7" records from a seller here. I was very happy with the purchase. On April 25th, I ordered an additional 500 records, as thats what I had in my paypal account. I had made another sale, so bought another 100 records. On May 3rd, I received two boxes. I did not check the weight on the boxes, but they clearly held 100 each. I asked the mail person if there were more, she said no. I figured there might have been a delay in a couple of the boxes. On May 4th, I message the fellow about the missing records. The fellow tells me that the records had to be broken up into different boxes, and gives me 3 tracking numbers. The first proble was that one of the tracking numbers he gave me was for the first order of 200 records that had nothing to do with this transaction. I then asked him for the weight of the boxes. He told me 20, 50 and 7 lbs. When I got home I checked the 2 boxes that I just received, both holding 100 recors. Both of the weighed around 9 - 10 lbs. One of them had a label (media mail) that listed it as 50 lbs. I sent a picture to the fellow of the two boxes with their labels. He then told me that I should go to the post office to talk to them. At this point I realized I was being ripped off. I went to the post office to see if they could tell me the weight when they received it, they were not weighed. I told the seller I was sending them back and want a full refund. I sent him the 100 records in the box with the 50 LBS label on it. I taped mine over the top. I do some selling myself, and if this were a mistake I would be doing everything I could to fix the customer's issue. He received them yesterday. I did call ebay and told me the policy as I have never had to deal with this before, thankfully. I still haven't heard from him saying anything like "hey i saw where i put the 50 lb label on the wrong box and sent the other box to someone else, i'm real sorry". I haven't left feedback yet, but if I have to ask ebay to step in, thats when I do it. Reading our conversation, I'm know ebay will see the issue.
Not looking for an answer, just kinda sharing my first what I would label as a "burn".

Seller is given 3 business days to respond/resolve.
If they want them back to refund, they are supposed to issue you a return label (on their dime)
They do have a choice to refund without requiring a return. They can offer a partial (which you can accept or decline)
I hope it all works out for you

Your return shipping cost won't be refunded. If you win, which you may not since this was technically an unauthorized return, the refund will be the amount of the original payment(s) only. Just letting you know that. It's entirely up to the seller to reimburse your return shipping cost because you jumped the gun and prematurely returned the records. If you lose the eBay case, just turn around and file with PayPal and upload your tracking number.
