Sending a package to Puerto Rico though the USPS

Just wondering what it would entail to send a package to Puerto Rico from South Dakota (US) ... would the buyer need to go through the Global Shipping Program?

Puerto Rico is a US territory. Shipping to Puerto Rico or other US terrirtories is effectively no different than shipping to Hawaii (i choose Hawaii because at least it's an island)

No customs, no GSP, no EIS.

I agree with @ajs_coins_and_alchemy. You can just use USPS. Good luck.

So essentially you are saying that I can print the label at home as usual and drop the Puerto Rico package off at the Post Office with my other packages that are going to the lower 48 United States. Correct?

Yes, that's correct. Shipping to PR, Hawaii, Alaska is the same process as shipping to the 48 contiguous states.

Same for Guam, US Virgin Islands, and the other territories.

Puerto Rico shipping is extremely quick like Hawaii shipping

Shipping to Guam etc can take a long time because its so so so far.

The pricing structure also works the same (Zone based) ... no crazy surcharges, treated as regular domestic shipping.

First of all there is no longer a GSP. It is EIS now.

Both are used for INTERNATIONAL shipping .

 Puerto Rico is NOT international.

You need to remove those words from your listings.

Also I input a PR zip code and you DO already ship there as you never excluded the location.

Shipping to Puerto Rico would be considered a within the USA movement as Puerto Rico is considered a territory of the USA. Ship it just the way you would ship to any US State. Buyers from Puerto Rico do not go through the Global Shipping Program.

Notice they have five-digit US zip codes.
