Selling and Shipping Large Items

I am selling a larger item, a sport bar for a Chevy truck bed, but do not have packaging for the items. How does shipping through ebay work in this case?

I would imagine the cost to ship would be astronomical. And if the buyer had a problem with the item, you could end up paying shipping both ways. I'd not ship.

Local pickup means just that - local pickup.  The buyer comes to you to get the truck part.  It will cost almost as much to ship that thing as it cost, and if the buyer says there is a problem, be it real or imagined, YOU pay the  return shipping back and refund the buyer.

If the buyer wants you to ship it, politely tell them NO.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Is this the same bar you sold on May 29 with Local Pickup? Are you relisting it or trying to ship the sold one?

That item was listed as Local Pickup, so there won't be any shipping.

Have a great day.

Your listings states local pickup.  For that item I would not ship it.

You could custom make a box with enough cardboard. I've done it. Nothing like walking past all the Amazon returns in line at the UPS store as you set down your large custom made box with a thermal label already on it. Haha. Actually it's not that great of a feeling. Just a slight satisfaction.

So is the buyer local to you? Have they contacted you or vice versa? When the buyer picks up, have them sign the order details page or get something to confirm they picked it up.
