Hi! I just bought some expensive second hand equipment from a seller costing around $3,000. The listing mentioned international shipping by UPS which cost $150. However when it was sent the tracking number was “USPS priority international package” instead. The postal service in my country is considered useless and is notorious for losing packages. That’s why I didn’t mind paying so much for UPS. The equipment is quite rare so I can’t afford to lose it and I am actually losing sleep from the worry. Any advice on what can be done if it gets lost?

The first step you can take is to file an Item Not Received claim if the item isn't to you at least one day past the Estimated Delivery Date on the order.
Try not to lose sleep. This process will at least make you whole again. Hang in there!

Thanks very much for the reply and support! OK I’ll make the claim if comes to that but touch wood I won’t need to.

This is what I recommend. You have a month to file a claim if it's lost.
The USPS or your PO won't agree it's lost when it's only a fews days past the expected delivery date. International deliveries can get held up in customs. Ask customs in your country if they have it before you file a claim.
If it's late ask your PO to look for it before you file a claim. If it isn't found and it's been a week file a not received claim. If the seller registered the package everyone that touches it has to sign for it and that can make a package arrive later than expected.
Not to worry yet. You are covered if it isn't received.

Ok! Your advice makes it feel like it’s actually manageable and not the end of the world should the worst happen. Thank you! Greatly appreciated.
