I bought a radio and it had missing parts, so I opened a return case. The seller told me to provide pictures, so I did. After that they said that they will resend all the parts, even the ones that weren't missing. They also told me to close the case. I didn't think much of this at first. Then I tested the radio and found out that it is defective, so I told them that and asked to return the unit. They said that they sent me a replacement and yet again told me to close the case. I asked them when will the shipment arrive. They said in about half a month and again asked to close the case. I realised that this is a common tactic in China to scam buyers. I told them that and asked to cancel the "shipment", since I don't even know if they sent it and I don't want to deal with scammers. Then they told me that they did send the shipment and I can return both units I have if the replacement doesn't work. I never even asked to get a replacement. They also didn't provide any proof that they sent the shipment. I'm worried that they didn't send it at all or if they did send it that it won't be working again. The case is open the until 25th of May to resolve this, so I'm afraid that all the shipping to and from China will be more than that limit, also I don't want pay for shipping costs of two units. I just want to return the **bleep** unit and get my refund. What do I do?

How in the world thou you have a case opened till may 25th?
This must be a China thing ebay does for them.
Save your ebay messages. U shouldn't have too return both.
China sellers have a one way cheap shipping. He's trying to get over on your so he doesn't have to pay the expensive shipping back (which trust me you won't want to either)

A request remains open for 30 business days from when it was started, hence the May 25th. It's not a China thing.
OP, stop communicating with the seller, and click Ask eBay to step in. eBay will require the seller to either send money for the return shipping, or refund without requiring a return. That is sort of a China thing.
No replacement parts, in part or in whole, have been shipped to you. Ever.

And that was a snipe post, the new game on these boards: Making the edit one second before time ran out.

Usually a seller gets 3 full business days to resolve unless they get an extension. The extension could be due to shipping "replacement" parts.
30 days is when a case times out. If that is what they mean by May 25, that's not the same thing. If it times out, eBay closes it in the seller's favor and you cannot open it again.
Make sure there's no "ask eBay to step in" option now. Don't let it time out and do not let the seller con you into closing it out.

I got an e-mail from Ebay saying that the seller acceptmed my return and that I will receive my shipping label tommorow. I also have the option to ask Ebay to step the day after tommorow. Should I return it or ask Ebay to step in?

You are going to see either a Seller is unable to send you a label (watch out, don't fall for this one), or a Looks like there's a delay with your label.
Click Ask eBay to step in. eBay will give the seller 5 days to either send money for the return shipping, or refund without requiring a return.

I just saw that the seller did indeed send the shipping label. Should I still just let Ebay to step in or should I send it, because I don't want to pay return shipping costs...

Does the return shipping label have online-viewable tracking (back to China), and does the return address exactly match the address in the case details shown on your returns page.
05-02-2017 08:13 AM
Nope, no online-viewable tracking. The adress they sent is from Germany. I'm not sure what adress you are talking about in the case details shown on my returns page. Do you mean the adress shown when I created the refund request? If so, that adress is in London.

You've seen the official return address in the lower left corner on your returns page like this:
http://community.ebay.co.uk/ebay04/attachments/ebay04/ArchiveBuyerCentral/108107/1/boots.jpg
If that return address is London, and the return label with no postage or online-viewable tracking is Germany, click on Ask eBay to step in as soon as it's available.

Alright, I asked Ebay to step in. Let's wait and see what happens.

Okay, they gave the seller 5 days to resolve this issue. Those 5 days have passed and in that time they didn't respond at all. I got my refund. Right after I got my refund, the seller sent me a message :
„Hi, for this issue.
could you pls help us to return the item? only the radio?
and we will refund you the postage when we receive it.
Okay for you?
Thanks for your help.
Best regards.“
The case is over and I never got a shipping label, but they did send me some kind of adress before. What should I do?

glad u got taken care of.
if u want to do the right thing, then tell the seller to send u a shipping label (they pay and can send it pdf or pic) u just have to print that label and ship it back. (if they do this u wont pay a penny).
your call on that, but that is the right thing to do.
if they dont send a shipping label then the seller is probably trying to scam a label cost out of u

Okay, I told the seller to send me the label. I'll take it from here. Thanks for the help everyone!
