Why can sellers cancel an order by saying there is a problem with the address and refund your money without giving you a chance to find out what the address issue is about? I have bought many items on Ebay and never received a message like this before.

I ordered an Anne Heche book for $13.95. The value of the book rose dramatically, literally overnight, after her accident. It is listed on Amazon for over $600 and there are now a few copies listed on Ebay with bids over $200 dollars. It seems like the real reason for the cancellation is the sudden increase in value. Sellers should not be allowed to cancel items that have a sudden huge increase in value. I don’t want the refund. I still want the book. A message asking that the book still be shipped was ignored. There is no way to leave negative feedback because the refund was already issued. Is there anything that I can do?

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do in terms of getting the book. Sellers can cancel based on address problem if they see a problem, like if it's an invalid address, if it's an empty lot or a known freight forwarder (that goes against ebay policies...or something like that ... idk).

Either way, my understanding is you can report the seller for the cancellation with "wrong reason" or "invalid reason" because if they did it for a reason other than address problem, and they selected that, then that's a no-no and can lead to some consequences in EBay's eyes.

Yeah -- sorry -- you're S.O.L. with regard to actually getting the book. Too bad it wasn't a day or two earlier, then you could have sold it for a nice return on your investment!
