Seller Unresponsive - Shipping status stuck in Pre-shipment - awaiting item

Hello

I purchased an item on Monday 8th at 4am. I was notifired at 3pm the same day that USPS had a label created and that item was in Pre-shipment status. Since then I have tried to reach out to the seller with numerous messages via Ebay and email but have not heard a single response. Also the USPS status has not changed. What can I do to see if this is just a package that is not being scanned and is on its way or if seller has not mailed it yet.

Depends on the status of the first update from USPS. 

If it has arrived a regional facility in another state and the scan immediately prior is "accepted - your zip or your post office's zip" only a few hours before it was scanned in the regional facility,  then carrier might have missed the scan at origin.

Depends also on the delivery service used. If it is Media Mail or an equivalent that is also the slowest service, parcel may stay in the origin post office for about 2 days.

Just wait until the last estimated delivery date has passed. Then ask the seller about the package. If you don't receive an answer, open the item not received case on ebay.

Just wait for the item to arrive. It really makes no sense worrying about whether the item has shipped or not. USPS doesn’t scan all packages upon acceptance and tracking is very unreliable right now.

It is listed as Media Mail. Also says Priority mail. So its a bit confusing I wish the Seller would just give me an update.

Yes, I am in Chicago cold beverages are probably not the best idea. LOL

I don't know if this helps or not, but I ship from the NW Chicago suburb(s) post offices a couple of times per week and the majority of post offices in my area are incredibly slow to update shipping status; post offices don't scan items for several days, items sit at the local post offices for more than 24 hours before moving at all.

As a seller, I've handed my prepaid packages to postal staff so I can watch them scan/accept my items. I also ask for a receipt in case the buyer ever has any questions.

Even after all of this and handing my packages to a real postal working, the tracking info is only updated when the package is delivered. Agh!

Hopefully your package is just sitting at one of Chicago's many post offices waiting to be delivered. 🙂

So Quick Update. I went down to the USPS office in the lobby of my work building and had them run the tracking #. It has been shipped but delivery is not scheduled till 3 days after the last estimated delivery date. I don't really mind that its a few days late. I just wanted to make sure it was shipped. I wish the seller was better at communicating. As long as I get the item and it works and is brand new as listed. I am good.

That’s great news! I don’t know what part of the country the package is in or what the destination is but USPS is a bit confused right now and I think snow back east may be affecting things still. My packaged headed for California took a wrong turn & is apparently slowly touring NYC & NJ! It was supposed to arrive yesterday. I’m not worry about it 🙂

Ok so second update: It's Tuesday the 16th now 3 days past estimated delivery date. I went back to USPS to see where the item is and they are now telling me the only info they have is that its in Pre-Shipment status. I have sent numerous messages to seller for a response and have not heard back at all. I have opened an item not received case with ebay and they are asking me to wait till next Monday. 

This is ridicuolus. 

When is a good time to leave a negative feedback for the seller.
