I'm confused... what is different?

Reversed the positions of the "Buy It Now" and "Add To Cart" buttons.
Do you ever use Amazon's "Buy Now" button...?
I never do - I always use the cart...
Design can lead behavior.

Well, I'll be. I think I've used Amazon twice... and I'll bet I used 'Buy Now'. (But I don't remember, honestly...) Hmmm... 🤔

if you think its going to make a huge difference how about telling us what you think that would be
is this going to increase sales or what
I have been on ebay since 98 and have yet to use the cart

And that should tell you something...people don't use it because the site design encourages you to "Buy It Now"
If you've been around since 98, then you remember what a big deal the "Buy it Now" button was. Now it seems so common in e-commerce, nobody would ever consider it as a feature. But there it is - like eBays got the lock on some great techno-advance.
Time to take the spotlight off the BIN button and make the call to action "Add to cart"
And, I use the cart - all the time...I might be bidding on 6 auctions in one night - all different sellers. I wait until Im done - hit the cart - and pay out all at once.
Some people are caught in their ways.

The cart also has the advantage of letting you make a final check of what you are buying, the cost, taxes, shipping, etc., as well as possible combined shipping. I use the cart even for a single item.

I read each button and select the one I want. This change here looks like it will affect only those buyers who never read. We have enough problems with those as it is. 😁

Except people see the "Buy It Now" as the first "call to action" button - and never look any further.

Hi @juicydrupes
Are you aware that many buyers stopped using the Cart because of glitches that were causing items in the Cart to be 'purchased' without the buyer's consent? I made sure to never use the Cart since that occurred.
Do you know whether the Cart is now 'safe' to use ... without the risk of buying something you didn't intend to buy?

Yes - I assume that if eBay is offering a service - its not up to me to make sure it freaking works!!!
And IMO - the cart has ALWAYS been underused.

It might help although I would suggest making the buy it now button a bit smaller too.
I’ve always used the add to cart button at Amazon and here but that is partly because of the way I shop. If I’m looking for specific widget I will put the ones that interest me in the cart and then keep looking to see if I find one that I like better. I prefer to do that rather than use the watch list.
But what they really need to do is change the cart so that it works properly. I think that the seller should have the option to set up their own request total requirements rather than eBay greying out the button In certain situations. If the seller wants buyers to be able to request a total if items are on sale, have ipr etc., the seller should be able to do set that up.
Also, make the request total more noticeable on a OC and make it available on the app.

I’ve never heard of that happening. I would be surprised if that is the reason people do not use the cart.

Why the outburst? Did I insult you in some way? 🤔
I was pointing out that MANY eBay buyers intentionally stopped using the Cart because of problems with it ... having nothing to do with placement of the buttons. [The Cart problems went on for years ... based on Community posts I've read.]
I personally prefer to put eBay items in my Watchlist ... and buy them from there when I'm ready. I never saw any reason for putting items in a Cart on eBay ... as opposed to Amazon ... since items were being sold by different sellers. [Whenever I intended to buy several items from a single eBay seller ... I contacted them before doing anything ... and inquired about combining shipping, giving them the item numbers and my ZIP Code. I only pressed buttons after being given an answer.]
And, yes ... I sometimes use the 'BIN' on Amazon ... when I'm sure there's nothing I need to double-check before committing to buy.

Hi @pjcdn2005
I don't recall the time period of the flood of posts regarding 'accidental purchases' of items that had been put in Carts ... but it went on for a long time.
I personally stopped using the Cart completely at the time ... and made a point of telling OPs to start putting items in their Watchlists instead of their Carts. [There seemed to be more than one way for these problems to occur ... some seeming to do with platform glitches; others with buyer error.]
