SHIPPING METRICS with HANDLING TIME and LABELS

I have been selling 24 years here and things change all the time, including me.  So I have offered same day shipping since the begin.  No more.  I am getting too old.  I have in place now a one day handling rule.  For all of us we understands that means : all sales up to midnight ebay time (12PMPST or 2AM CST) have to get to the post office by the next day.

As I am now very old and visually impaired I must have another person take my packages daily at 7AM which means for me that I stay up to 2AM to do my shipping as to not damage my metrics.  Here is my question and I am not up to guesses or I would just call customer service and get 20 different answers there. haha

If I ship printing labels in advance but using the next days date will I get metric dings on my account?  I can do it and then just check for the couple extra overnight in the morning but if it messes up my account then I would not be able to deal with it.  I have always kept my standards doing the right thing for customers, then me, then ebay but I am very tired now.  Hoops are so high.

I just wish there was a REAL one day handling time period.  Thank you to anyone that actually knows a real answer I can see on ebay.  I searched everywhere on help and contact to find ZERO.  Seems after all this time if I have a question it is only because it is weird.  Thank you

SHIPPING METRICS with HANDLING TIME and LABELS

Just to clarify my question here is a scenario:

Monday: - 5 customers buy things so late evening I ship using ebay shipping and put Tuesdays ship date on.  I get up Tuesday morning to find one more order before ebay midnightt cutoff (2AM CST) so I quick label and pack it too to go with the other 5 that same Tuesday morning.

Tuesday: - 5 more sales so late evening I do my shipping putting Wednesday date on the 5.  Wednesday morning I get up and 5 more waiting from before 2AM so I label and ship them for a total of 10 Wednesday ETC

I have never post dated a label and Im just scared to do it

I'm a Top-Rated Seller and I have a three-day handling time. A one-day handling time isn't necessary to keep the Top-Rated badge.

If you receive an order on Monday, technically, one day shipping would mean that you must ship no later than Wednesday. Tuesday is the one day handling time.

Just like shipping a package. 3 day shipping does not mean that if shipper sends package on Monday that you'll have it on Wednesday. The day the package is shipped and the day the customer receives the package do not count as ship days.

Thanks again for reply.  I dont think anyone is comprehending my question as it is hard to explain.  I guess what I am asking is this - will placing an advanced date of one day give me a ding on the account?  I have had things like that that dont make logical sense do it.  I am not interested in getting dings at this point after over 750,000 sales.  So when I print a label it autopopulates I have shipped no matter what date I have on it.  So shipping Monday will autopopulate shipped Monday BUT not getting scanned until Tuesday - does ANYONE know if that signals a late scan?

I've never had a problem doing that and I've done that plenty of times. I just printed a label last Friday and shipped it Monday. I've also had snow storms  and waited until the roads were plowed before going to P.O. which added on an extra day after label had been printed.

I still have a 100% ship rating. I've never received a ding.

Sorry, I guess I meant while receiving the top rated plus benefits.  So I do the short ship (and the listings that are 14 day returns still qualify as they are jewelry.) I do know that if they are scanned as late scan I get dings on my service metrics.  I think service metrics are not even calculated unless you have 400 annual or 400 monthly sales.

I don't see TR-Plus on any of your listings, so I checked the shipping details on a few of your listings.  They say "Buyer pays for returns" or "Seller does not accept returns."  In order to get the TR-Plus benefit of 10% FVF credit, you have to offer "free" returns, i.e., seller pays.  In the jewelry category you can have a 14-day return time rather than 30 days, but they must still be "free."  So concerns about the details of your handling time and actual shipping speed are moot.

If you print the label the day before you mail an item it won't affect your metrics.  For the  'tracking uploaded on time and validated' metric you have to print the label within your handling time and the package has to be scanned at least once during its journey.  The date on the label will only affect that metric if you print and/or upload after your handling time.

For your 'late shipment' metric, the important thing is that you have an acceptance scan within your handling time OR a delivered scan before the last estimated delivery date.

When I click on free returns on your listing page, only 19 listings come up. The rest don't appear to have free returns or returns at all and probably aren't trs plus.
