Sold an item and shipped it out priority mail. It came back as return to sender. I messages the buyer and let them know. Buyer is now asking if I want to mail it to another address. They have 100% positive feedback but I am a little sketched out. Certainly I am not mailing it back out without getting the new shipping covered by the buyer. Anyone have a similar encounter, is it scammy? How would you go about this?

Yes, I had a return to sender. Contacted buyer, agreed to cancel and refund less shipping (they are at fault for not having accurate address), then relist for them to purchase with corrected address. The buyer repurchased with new address. Make sure to instruct them to correct the address on paypal and ebay.

its against ebay policy what buyer is doing , do not worry you are protected ,below is ebay policy for buyer
************************
Not allowed
Requesting a shipping service not offered by the seller
Requesting the seller ship to an address other than what you included in checkout
Requesting to use a payment method not offered during checkout
Requesting the seller hold your item so you can pay later
Requesting a partial refund without returning the item
Request additional items or services not included in the original listing or asking for a discount
Finding an item on eBay and taking the sale off eBay
**************************************************
1 : send the message to buyer that you have done your part and give him tracking info , if he open case "item not received case" you will be protected because you shipped the item on the address on label but returned due to invalid address or refused delivery or no secure location available /delivery attempted. then its not seller fault you will be protected.
2 : if you receive message from buyer from different account for different account transaction, then do not respond buyer, just call the cs and let them know about it that he is sending you message from different account look like a scammer. you will be protected. you have done your part .
hope its help!

If I understand you correctly, the delivery was refused and the package marked "return to sender." Did you send it to the address furnished in the transaction records? I would be extremely skeptical of the buyer trying to give me such a story. I would cancel the translation using the problem with the address and put the buyer on my BBL and refund. Frankly, sounds like a scam to me.

Not sure what you mean by "everything is green".
Go to Seller Hub (Hover over My Ebay, select Selling on drop down. In Overview select See All Orders)
To the left of the picture of item returned, you'll find a drop down arrow next to Leave Feedback. Select Cancel Order. Follow the choices for Problem with Address (or whatever they are terming it now).
Refund less the cost of shipping.
Relist item.
Inform the buyer what you have done. If they want the item, they can repurchase with correct address, and remind them to correct their address in paypal before purchasing. Sometimes this is a legitimate "forgot to change address" and if they have setting to auto pay then it skips the chance to change address. Inform them you are not allowed to send it to another address other than what is on the order.
If they do not want to repurchase, then report buyer and block buyer. If they give you a hard time about any portion, report the buyer and block the buyer.
You may salvage a sale or thwart a scam attempt. Either way, as others have pointed out, you will be protected because you have followed the rules.
