Hi, this is probably a dumb question but it's my first time returning something as a buyer and I'm a little confused. I printed the label but it says on the sheet that I'm supposed to fold it along a dotted line. It does not say to cut out the label, which is what I'd think you do. Is this a standard procedure? Also it says to use shipping tape to affix the label. I only have regular clear Scotch tape, is it ok to use it instead?

Assuming that there is nothing on the other side of the dotted line then you can safely cut it along that line but do not trim it any further. Ideally it would be printed on a self stick label but if you used plain paper that is OK too.
Use clear (scotch) tape along all 4 edges. It is OK to run a piece of tape across the name and address. Do not tape over the QR block in the upper right. You can put tape over the top or bottom half of the bar code, but do not cover it completely.

I would probably suggest picking up a roll of clear shipping tape. Regular scotch tape probably isn't strong enough.

Using a shipping label printed on paper is just fine. It is also OK to trim the label as long as you don't cut off any of the important parts! Usually label has a thin boarder around it and one can safely trim to that boarder.
You could attach the label with a glue stick, but tape the edges so that processing machinery can't catch the edge of the label. Also, I would use clear plastic shipping tape to cover at least part of the bar code. Point being under adverse circumstances part of the critical bar code is protected. Should be able to get some 2-in wide clear tape at a dollar store.
Labels are often inserted into plastic envelops/sleeves with a sticky side. So as long as the tape you use is clear, it is OK to cover the label, address, bar code and QRL code. That way the label is firmly attached and it is protected, especially if it was printed using an inkjet and the label gets wet!

I do exactly what you described in your post - no issues in 1524 packages shipped.
I used the clear scotch tape for teh Dollar Tree - seems clearer & stronger than other scotch tapes I've used.
