Initiated return for an item that came damaged. Seller first asked to pay for return shipment but then sent prepaid label. They got return on 5/6 but no return. I contacted them again on 5/22 to ask about the status and they said that the item was used and they were refusing to issue refund. (I had to open the net before I could see it was damaged - badminton set). Now, the case shows as "return is closed" as of 5/22 and I am unable to get ebay to step in. All the links go nowhere - it never lists my topic (return received and refund not issued) and I am unable to find a way to contact ebay. I followed every single help page on their site but none of them work as described (to get ebay to step in). Here is the screenshot where I am supposed to get ebay to step in. This all seems just too ridiculous to be true

This is what I believe. It was delivered to you on april 8.
You returned it back without opening a request. The seller received it back May 6.
Here's where it went off track. You needed to contact eBay within 10 days of tracking showing delivered back to the seller. If the seller doesn't refund as required there's a timeframe to have eBay help. You let more than 10 days pass. Then on the 22 of May you opened a return request and it promptly closed with no refund BECAUSE on eBay you must open a case within 30 days after tracking shows delivered to the buyer. That would be by May 8. You let too much time pass to have eBay help.
Go to paypal.com/disputes/ and file a not as described case there. Let them know the item was delivered back to the seller on May 6 and they refused to refund. You'll need the tracking # as proof.
