Request for return of objects and refund was shut down/DENIED without any help

I bought sterling silver candlesticks for a gift.  They arrived with dings and not what I saw in the picture.  I asked for a refund and was told to send them back to the seller.  I sent them back with pictures and all the documentation asked for.  Ebay just notified me last night that the case is CLOSE.  The end.  I could appeal but THE EXCUSE THEY GAVE ME WAS THAT I HAVE EXCEEDED THE NUMBER OF TIMES A BUYER CAN ASK FOR A REFUND OR REFUND AMOUNT.  This is a lie.  I have never asked for a refund or to send an item back.  I have very good reports from the sellers that I have bought from previously.  I always try to give the seller the "benefit of the doubt" but in this case the candlesticks were priced too high for what they were and I just thought the seller knew what he was offering.

MY REAL PROBLEM IS THAT NO ONE HAS SAID A WORD to me other than CASE CLOSED.  With erroneous information placed on the form about me and too many returns I would just like to talk to someone.  NOONE HAS SAID HOW I AM TO RECEIVE MY obviously uncared for candlesticks BACK.  I would just really like to know something OTHER THAN CASE CLOSED.  Wouldn't you think that the seller should take the time to contact me with some form of apology .  I am the one that has been mistreated in this case.  I'd like a note FROM SOMEONE.

@beppiesimpson   I am sorry that this happened to you.  I can only suggest you contact customer service.  The easiest way to contact CS is on social media

For some depts, the call lines are turned off when the wait times become too long. Try calling at 5am PT.

If you are using a cell phone turn off the spam filter or it may block the call back

Contact customer service by selecting a contact method from the bottom of a help page, chat or call back are available for most topics :
https://www.ebay.com/help/home

Social media can NOT help with managed payments issues.

Or you can also contact customer service by sending a private message on social media. You leave a message and an eBay employee will get back to you as soon as possible. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID, and a brief explanation of your problem.

They may take a few days to get back to you but it's usually sooner.

If ebay doesn't help then file another refund request on paypal for item not as described and use the same tracking that shows delivery to the seller. If the seller doesn't refund after a few days then escalate the case to paypal

OR if you did not use paypal contact your bank or credit card and do a chargeback.

Does anyone else have access to your eBay account?  If so, they might be the ones with the returns if it isn't you.

"I asked for a refund and was told to send them back to the seller. I sent them back with pictures and all the documentation asked for."

As far as I know, ebay doesn't ask for nor give credence to pictures.

It sounds like you have only been communicating with the seller.

The proper claim would be to file a not as described claim with ebay in the resolution center. ("I received an item that does not match the seller's description")

https://resolutioncenter.ebay.com/

Is that what you did?

The seller then would be required to send you a shipping label for a return and when the seller received it back, you would be issued a  refund.

I would suggest that you file an appeal to dispute the determination & the underlying basis given for that determination.

Good luck
