How often do you use these boxes? And does it come up as a shipping option? I must get rid of things in lots and trying to keep shipping down. Thanks, Brenda

Thanks a lot. I need to ship in lots to get rid of my hoard or when I’m gone the kids will send to landfill.

No, it does not come up as a "separate" option. You would choose Priority Mail when printing your label.
The Rate A box ships at the 2 lb PM rate with a maximum box weight of 15lbs.
The Rate B box ships at the 5 lb PM rate with a maximum box weight of 20lbs.
They are still Zone Based prices.
Hope this helps.

We use them quite a bit for shipping to either coast (we're in the midwest).

Your location has nothing to do with Regional Rate boxes.

I use these quite a bit ,but I'm located right in the middle of the country, so the zone charges are quite reasonable for me. I order quite a bit of these boxes at once and then talk to my PO and let the postmaster know about the order. I go and pick up the order so I don't **bleep** off my delivery person.
Regional rates don't come up as an option under shipping when putting a listing together, but depending on where you are located, you wouldn't necessrily want to be committed to a regoinal rate where you would lose money on the shipping.

There will be an increase to the RR postage rates come January 17 and they won't exactly match the 2 and 5 lb Priority Zone rates, but they'll be fairly close.
I just shipped a 4 lb RRA Coast to Coast for $10.80. That sure beats $18.15 Priority Commercial.
You can buy RR postage on eBay, but not PayPal. However, RR is the only Commercial rate pricing available on USPS ClickNShip. All other CNS purchases are retail rates.

So I would chose Priority and put weight as 2 pounds? Thanks, Brenda

The prices for the Regional Rate boxes will be changing in January, so just entering a two pound weight will only work for the next few weeks.

Until January 27, a Regional box is cheaper than regular rates if your package weight is above 2 or 5 pounds, regardless of where you live.
