Refund postage. Is on me. Shouldn’t be.

How do I end up paying postage for return? It was wrong item .sellers fault.  Seller agrees. Ebay all sick? Can’t talk on phone . Virus spreads there too? No fun.

When you begin a return through eBay, the seller is responsible for paying for return shipping if you declare that the seller made a mistake or there was damage in shipping (this is a Money Back Guarantee claim).  The return reasons for a Money Back Guarantee claim where the seller pays return shipping are:

  • Doesn't work or defective
  • Doesn't match description or photos
  • Wrong item sent
  • Missing parts or pieces
  • Arrived damaged
  • Doesn't seem authentic

There are other return reasons that are considered "buyer's remorse", and these returns are paid for by the buyer (unless the seller offers free returns):

  • Doesn't fit
  • Changed my mind
  • Found a better price
  • Just didn't like it
  • Ordered by mistake
