The buyer has informed me the address provided by eBay was incorrect and would like the book sent to another address. Should I adjust the new address and trust the buyer. Who has no previous purchases or rank. The books only $25. Would it help any insurance or a signature confirmation. To Ins to ensure myself and protect against frad

Actually, the address was provided by the buyer, not eBay. The buyer sees the address when he pays and is offered the chance to change it at that time. The safest way to handle this, I understand, is for you to cancel, citing problem with buyer's address. You then relist, he re-buys and changes the address then. Don't understand your question about insurance or signature confirmation. That does not change the address.

No, if you ship to a different address, insurance and a signature will not help any.
Cancel the order as a problem with the buyers address and they can buy again using the correct address.

buying insurance is NOT going to help you nor does it invalidate the MBG
this is the buyers problem, please do not let them make it your problem
the correct thing to do is to cancel as a problem with buyer address
you can then relist it and they can purchase again after they have changed the address
anything a buyer says in the message system means squat
you need to follow the rules so you dont get fleeced

And there have been cases where some other random person, not the buyer, will send the seller a message about the wrong address. The seller accommodates that by changing the address and later discovers that he's send the package to a scammer.

no change by you for addy: you loss of any protection if you do.
Correct procedure is to
1: make sure the user is the same user name that purchased. Some times other claiming to be the buyer use such to get free stuff.
2: inform the buyer that you will cancel listing due to addy:
and ask them to correct their address: relist so the can then again purchase item.
