I have a large item; the dimensions are 60" x 24" x 10. From what I read, the total length plus girth cannot exceed 108". I assume girth is all the way around so I come up with 60+24+10+24+10 for a total of 128. When I enter these dimensions, it still gives me Ground Advantage as an option. I assume it would not be an option if the item was too big? Am I missing something or can I ship this item with Ground Advantage?

Yes... you can ship a package that size via USPS GA. (There's an upcharge for your package over 22" measurement.) Here's the USPS Pricing Tool. >> Retail Postage Price Calculator (usps.com)
Of course, I don't have your weight and zip codes, so I can't finish the equation. Remember that you'll receive Commercial rates if you buy them on eBay... you set whether the buyer sees Retail or Commercial rates. Good luck.

Last I knew USPS went up to 130", but that 108" to up to 130" inches was a huge "balloon surcharge" that made the price quite unreasonable.

108 inches is the maximum length-plus-girth for Priority Mail, but the maximum for GA is 130 inches.

Just doing some calculations on your package: 60X24X10 = 14,400/166 = 86.7 so 87 dimensional weight. So you would be charged the dimensional weight, plus $7.00 for being over 30' longplus $15.00 for being over 2 dimensional feet.

There is no USPS rate for weights greater then 70 pounds. Because of those package dimensions, they would be charged the "Oversize" rate rather than a weight-based rate. Plus those two surcharges for length over 30 inches and volume over 2 cubic feet. Yikes! Maybe it's time to look at UPS or FedEx.
Oversize rates range from $84 to $220, depending on Zone; see the details here:
