Premature Refund

Hello.  A customer purchased a camera and messaged me the other day that she would like to return it because it wasn't working properly.  I mistakenly refunded her purchase and she hasn't sent the camera back. It's only been a few days. She now may want to keep the camera because she may be able to fix it. How should I proceed?

 

By the way, she's been very communicative and has done her due diligence.  The funds have been withdrawn from my pay pal account and she hasn't received any money yet.  I also didn't have enough funds in the pay pal account to cover the full return because I don't keep much money in there...only enough to cover my fees for the month.  Perhaps this is the reason why she hasn't received the refu d yet. Either way I sent it too soon and just want to know what I should do. Thank you so much!  Just when I think I've learned most about what I'm doing I still make a mistake every now and then.

Let's hope your buyer is honest and ships it back. But if not you can try to file a police report in their city. Other than that I don't think there's anything you can do. Sorry this happened. Live and learn.

The camera she bought is not working properly and she thinks it may be due to battery corrosion. She cleaning the contacts in 5he battery compartment. She's been keeping me posted and is hoping to keep the camera. Maybe she'll have to repay. The refund is still showing as pending. It's odd.

It could still be showing pending because she hasn't accepted it due to the fact that she is trying to fix it. Maybe she will decline the refund if she doesn't ruin the camera. There are still a lot of honest people in the world. Good Luck

Was there enough money in your account to cover the full amount plus the Paypal Fees? If not...that could be why it is pending although I thought that it usually gave an error message when that happened.
