Good day,
I’m reaching out because the situation is becoming a bit frustrating.
I’m a Top Rated Seller (30 day return; buyer pays returns) based in the EU, and I’ve noticed that when selling through eBay.com, I don’t have the option to issue a partial deduction of up to 50%.
In some cases, the buyer mishandles the item (e.g., we end up paying duties despite providing clear instructions, or items are returned with dog hair, etc.). We should be able to deduct a reasonable amount in such situations. This usually happens with US/Canadian buyers who do not read the instructions or do not care.
Is this a technical issue on my end, or is this feature simply not available to non-US/Canada sellers on eBay.com?
Currently, we send buyers an external payment link to recover costs such as damage or import duties. As far as I know, this is our only option.
Additionally, if we do deduct 10–50% from a refund, do we also receive a proportional refund of the eBay seller fees?
Thank you in advance for your help.
