New Packing Slip format HORRIBLE

Today I went to ship an item, and saw the new ebay shipping packing slip format.

I have a custom message that I added to my packing slip for last 10 years.  Today, it is GONE.   Called ebay and they said they cannot ressurrect my old message, and I can add a new custom message to the packing slip, but I will need to add that manually for EVERY SINGLE INVOICE that I send.   Really ebay ?????

Also, I asked about the Custom option which is one of the choices on the packing slip interface screen.  When I click Custom, it does nothing - no new options, no new packing slip format.  The ebay customer service person said they have not been told about this new feature, so they cannot help me or tell me anything more about it.  I said "well ebay obviously added the option, so I'd like ebay to tell me what is is used for".  I was dumfounded that they cannot tell me anything and dont know anything.   Ebay - please get your act together !!!!!

New Packing Slip format HORRIBLE

I'm not loving the new packing slip, either! I think the number of people that are sad about it is going to be limited because (I believe) what changed was just the BULK packing slip (and a lot of people use the one-by-one format).

With the old bulk packing slip, I would set it to print at 120% and then print 2 to a page... not perfect, but made me feel better about my green factor to only use 1/2 page.   I also really liked the custom message AND the amount of white space. Last, I found it useful to have the buyers' phone numbers on there because (since all the USPS delays and pile-ups of the last 2 months) I've found it handy to write their phone numbers somewhat prominently on the side of the packages  (for the inevitable 'delivered-to-neighbor-on-accident' situations, etc..)  The LAST thing I miss is the option to just print an invoice and plain paper address label on one page. I send 5 or 6 stamped, untracked envelopes each month, and having that plain address label all ready to go really helped my work-flow.

RE: the new one. When I go to customize, it gives me the option to add a photo of each item sold and/or a store logo and/or a QR code that takes someone straight to my store's URL.  I like having all those things, but it is a VERY dense bunch of text and the buyers' names are REALLY small when I print 2 to page.

Anyway--just wanted to let you know I miss the Bulk invoice/packing slips, too! There is a spot to give feedback each time I print a bunch of them and I'm trying to tell them what I like and dislike each time.

I also dislike them.  If the "customize" feature allowed me to actually customize things, like the page setup or removing the huge block of text about my seller feedback, I would like the design better.

I too resized the previous ones. And why have a custom message field without the ability to actually write your own message? (besides entering the text every time, as stated by the OP)

I do like the store address (besides the giant font) and the QR code, but after the simplicity of the previous packing slips, this new design needs some more work. I have been submitting feedback as well.

It is good to know that bulk ones are the only ones that have changed. I can't imagine printing them individually, but it is good to know the option exists in case frustration gets the better of me. 🙂

Same issue.

Want to print an invoice for the customer, and us for accounting. It's the gold standard of customer service.

No reason to expose a bitcoin-like 20-digit order number for the customer. I've always used the 4-digit invoice number for accounting.

Ah ebay, where are you providing service to sellers?

Just my $0.02 worth...

FWIW, one can use the old "Print Shipping Labels or Invoices" system by logging in to the seller hub on ebayDOTca.

They have not changed to the new system, but will probably do so more sooner than later...

I hate the fact that I can't print 2 to a page without editing the format every time I print these. I print a lot of packing slips and using twice the paper is just a waste. I can print them 2 to a sheet if I change the printing size when the print window pops up but then if I forget to change it back when I print the labels, the labels end up too small. That means I have to go back and forth every time I print something which is a waste of my time.

Again eBay went and fixed something that wasn't broke in the first place. Just leave things alone!

Please put in our Ebay ID in the section where you add a note to the buyer. As it now is it puts in the first line of our shipping address. That is not our eBay ID. Very confusing to the buyer as they see a note from something that has nothing to do with our ID. Please on the tech side correct this. We will not use the option of note to buyer because of this flaw. Not everyone uses their address as the same for their ID. In fact most people have a different eBay ID from their address. Can someone please contact the tech side to make this change.

I didn't know prior that eBay had changed their packing slip format. I thought it was just me who now couldn't find out how to select the different options to print on the packing slip as I've done before.

Now knowing this, I'll pull the packing slip into my PDF editor and add in the additional information sections as I've used before. Another step in the process, additional time on my part. As these slips are part of how we show our professional side to our buyers, guess I'll now have to do this.

A suggestion for those of you with an Adobe paid subscription.
