Need to return an item but the post office won't accept it

I live in Ireland. I recently bought a rechargeable hair clipper from a UK seller. The hair clipper was damaged so I contacted the seller. He's going to give me a refund if I return it by the sixth of January.

I just went to the post office to post the hair clipper. The woman behind the counter asked what was in the parcel. I told her it was a hair clipper. She asked if it had a battery and I said yes. She said they can't accept it.

I have no means of transport so I can't bring it to a courier. I have no idea what to do with it.

How am I going to get my money back if I can't return it?

Contact Seller & explain. Ask if you can return w/o Battery.

You can still get a refund. You need to ask eBay to close the case in your favor. It's hazardous to ship back the item is one of the reasons you can get a refund without being required to return it. Read the money back guarantee.

You need to read the guarantee, too. The buyer doesn't have to return it because their PO doesn't accept batteries in the International Mail. If they bought an item deemed hazardous, or not allowed in the mail the buyer gets a refund without being required to return it.

This doesn't just have a normal AA or AAA battery. It has an internal battery that would require disassembling the clipper to get to.

I think I'll have to contact eBay and explain that I can't return it.
