Nc to WA calculated shipping error?

Long story short I've got an aged listing for a piece of clothing I was finally able to move. I have this set like all of my clothing that weighs less than 1LB calculated based upon my standard packaging size, and its final shipping weight. Buyer accepted a low offer I had sent and shortly after paid for the item and the shipping. But shipping charges for the customer were only 4.14, which would be too low to ship anywhere except to my next door neighbor. Buyer has no other orders with me, past or present so it is not combined shipping. But my calculated shipping cost for this package is 6.78. Any idea what could have caused this? I'm just going to take the L and lose a couple cents to avoid upsetting this customer, so I am not concerned about proper payment, just that it does not happen again.

Photos Below: 1st image shows the shipping policy and weight/dimensions that were used for this listing, (I used relist button to verify this).  2nd image is my shipping page as if I were buying the label to ship the item to my customer.  3rd image shows the 4.14 they paid for shipping.

Yes. Package type.

On the old listing form, sellers could select package type and some sellers would err and choose large envelope (aka letter/flat) instead of package/thick envelope.

Large envelope/flat means the buyer is charged for an untracked First Class Flat.

On the new listing form there is no way to change package type since eBay removed it, but the field is still there on the back end. So if you 'sell similar' or 'relist' from a listing that had an incorrect package type, that will carry over behind the scenes on the new form.

The way to deal with any lingering 'flat' package types is to end the listing and create a new one from scratch. You can copy/paste description, title, etc.

Now ... how to find out if you have any listings with wrong package type. Two options. One: scroll through your listings and look for shipping costs that are lower than they should be. Two: on the active listings page in seller hub, click the shipping cost header in the gray menu bar. That will sort your listings based on shipping cost. You'll want to go to the listings with the lowest shipping costs to verify if they're correct or if the listings need to be re-done.

Start with this listing: 363948649483

End it and create a new one.

Here's another: 363927523129

Do the sort in seller hub @equipment_repair_manuals - it will be the easiest way to find them fast and make sure you don't miss any.

Tried to Use the eBay Customer Chat to find out if I had made an error in the listing or what had occurred and my buddy Jason was more than helpful.🤣

Good to know!

Didn't even think about the old package/envelope shipping, I have forgotten about it in this short time since the New listing tool became "Mandatory"

$4.14 is the correct postage cost for a 13-ounce flat (AKA Large envelope).  Either you or the eBay gremlins set this listing up to charge for a flat rather than for a package.  eBay doesn't sell postage for flats, so you were automatically shown the label for a First Class package.

I suspect that this situation is eBay's fault; there have been several posts in the last couple of days with this exact same error.  To make things worse, the new listing form does not allow sellers who choose between letter, flat, or package so  there's no way to correct it.
