Media mail listed as shipping choice for first class parcel. Head, scratched.

A lot of folks have written messages saying they're not being allowed to opt for media mail when listing a book or other bound printed matter in any category other than books.  Tonight I shipped an ordinary first class parcel and was offered Media Mail rate along with the first class rate I always use for similar domestic shipments.  Can't say I ever really looked at the suggested alternative  rates for buying postage, but there it was.

Some can't get it and need it, while I had no need and up it showed.  Go figure.

I have seen no complaints about accessing Media Mail when setting up a listing.  But plenty of sellers who offered MM in their listings find that they aren't able to purchase a label for it, due to eBay's decision to base access to MM labels on the main category that an item was listed in. So perhaps you listed your item in a category that eBay has decided is eligible for MM?
