Mark the product as shipped and update the tracking number late

Hi

I hope you're doing well, I little confused right now, What if i Can do "Mark as ship to the order on the last day of handling time and then update the tracking number " Does that count late and decrease my tracking update on time ratio?

Example:

Buyer placed the order on 15-June, Last day of handling time is 18-June, I mark as shipped on 18-June and then upload the tracking on 20-june, Does this situation decrease my tracking update on time ratio?

Thanks

 Hi @rec-9492  ,

Unfortunately the eBay Late Shipping defect is based on when the package is scanned OR in your case tracking is uploaded to the Sold file.  However, it also possible that with the weekend holiday AND the fact that your last Handling day was Saturday the 18th the next Business day for shipping (USPS) was Tuesday the 21st ... I suggest that you check your Seller Dashboard to see if you have on-time shipping for all of your items ... if not then they will show you the defect there.

There are 2 shipping metrics.  One is to upload tracking within your handling time.  That tracking number has be validated which means it has to show as scanned at least once anytime during the journey.  If you entered your tracking number after your handling time then you were late.  But that metric only affects you if your a top rated seller.

The late shipment rate is figured out differently.   In order to have ‘shipped on time’ your package has to be scanned by the post office by midnight on your ‘Ship to’ date. If you have a one day handling and you sell on item on Monday, it should be scanned by Tuesday midnight.
But even if it is scanned late it will be considered as on time IF it is scanned as delivered by the estimated delivery date.

As suggested by mr lincoln if you had a 3 day handling that is 3 business days so Thursday., Friday and Tuesday were your 3 handling days.  If your package was scanned by midnight on Tuesday and you have already entered the tracking number then it should all have been on time.

I think that's what some of my sellers do, or at least they might as well. I don't know (or care) how it benefits any of you. It just makes ebay more dreadful. ho hum.
