Mark as shipped

Hello, I have been with ebay for years. Now I've come across a package I've shipped, it was only in an envelope. So there was no tracking information to upload. But it won't mark as shipped without tracking information. It won't even let me click on "sold" items it takes me right to the screen that shows me what I am watching, buying, selling. I find myself getting frustrated with ebay for making things so complicated, I work on everything through my iPhone, without the app, does anyone know how can I accomplish this simple task?

Even if you use a laptop, you won't be able to mark the item as "shipped". Need a tracking number.

Periodically I have had items mailed in 1st Class Envelope or 1st Class Large Envelope and never have had a problem marking them as shipped without adding a tracking #. Of course, it hurts my % on my dashboard but sometimes it's necessary. Impossible to sell some items with even $3.50 minimum shipping cost. Unless there is some new ebay rule it should be able to be done. I'd try a laptop or PC.

A tracking number is not required in order to mark an item shipped.

You are correct, you should be able to mark it shipped without needing a tracking number.  Now this isn't an answer as what you experience certainly shouldn't happen.  But sometimes I've found if you try to do it from a different direction when you run into a problem of similar nature it will allow you.

For example, you can leave FB from the seller hub or you can go to your FB page - drop to the bottom, or you can go to the listing itself and do it from there.  At least 3 different ways to accomplish the same thing.

So try a different direction.  If you can do it from the Seller Hub, call up the listing itself and see if you can do it from there.  Click on the sold button on the listing, then to the right of the buyer's name there is a drop down menu for several options.  Select Mark As Shipped and see if that will work.  Certainly not a fix, but a work around.  I hope it helps.

I don't have any items waiting to be shipped, but if you are using the Seller Hub, can't you go to ORDERS > Awaiting shipment   and click the down-arrow and select Mark as shipped  ???

Yes, you should be able to do that.  But from time to time there is a little glitch running around on certain functions.  Most functions have several ways to get to them, so if one way doesn't work, I just try another one.  Eventually I find one that works.  I've had this very problem a few months back and that is what I did.
