Hello,
I recently sold an item for local pickup only". That was stated on the listing. The item I sold was for my father. Someone bought the item and paid for it. Since the buyer lives about 4 hours away, my father offered to meet them halfway. They agreed but as of yet, cannot (or will not) give us a date to me. This item was sold on 9/29/21. We've made numerous attempts to set up a meeting. The person always says they will get back to us. My father travels quite a bit (he's retired) and cannot always be at their beck and call. I have actually contacted eBay regarding this and their response was "we're sorry this is happening to you; it's not right" but have offered no solution. Any ideas?

With local pickup ( and If I remember correctly) the item isn't paid for and you have to arrange a payment method (cash, card, check, etc...)
I would refund the seller and relist the item. I know its probably not the answer you were looking for but it's better to find another potential buyer then to wait for this one to eventually get the item. Ebay doesn't give the buyer a timeframe to pick up the item or vise versa, but usually I give a week or more depending on if the buyer gives me notice if something happens and they need more time.

The only idea I have is that you could cancel the order, and I think I could justify citing something other than 'Out of stock'.

Hi @vande_6240 ,
Your item is paid for, you have messaged the Buyer offering a means to arrange the pick up. At this point there is nothing to do but wait. I wouldn't spend the money just yet. When I do local pick up sales I advise Buyers I will meet them at a local convenience store, it is their responsibility to get there at the agreed to day and time, that's the nature of Local Pick up. All of mine have been paid for in advance.
