I just found the late shipment report in the seller dashboard. I only have 3 out of 84 so not a major deal. One I never recieved a "your item has sold" notification and had sold a similar item the day before so I didn't notice until I spotted a "print shipping label" not grayed out in my sold listings a few days later. I get notices on my PC and phone so notification wasn't sent or I'd of got one. I apologized to buyer and upgraded to priority. I'll take that one though..
Second was sitting on the rolltop desk headed for the mailbox. The desk got closed, found it nearly a week late. My bad there for sure.
The third, purchased on a Sunday, scheduled for pickup USPS on Monday.
I'm rural and we got nearly a foot of wet snow. A lot for here. You could hear Alder trees snapping for miles around all day Sunday and Monday (It shows snow totals in Accuweather). Mailman has a little car and was a no show on Monday. Picked up Tuesday and said marked storm delay. They never put 'storm delay" in tracking (if that would of helped) and it took 4 days to get there hence the 1 day delay. Called Ebay and got the same cut n paste "be a good shipper" as the help pages. Then rep continued reading Ebay help pages to me. His solution to an isolated incident ....add another day to my ship time!
You pay by midnight it goes out the next shipping day is my policy and I'm not changing it. Longer delays mean less sales and impatient buyers are less happy. Also no auto 5 stars in DSR shipping (which I don't get half the time ) .
Ebays says if they find out at a later date they can change ratings to 5 star but I didn't see anything about sellers asking for a bad mark removal in dashboard needing to request it within 90 DAYS of transaction. I find it hard to believe that in 90 days it's chiseled in marble and non-removable. Ebay says they are there for sellers but I'm not seeing that. 100% FB & 15 sales short of 'top rated seller" status. Hopefully it won't cost me my discount in a month or two when I qualify.(or anytime until next Feb.) I'm sure it won't.
I really expected a little consideration from Ebay. oh well ...lesson learned. I'll be keeping a closer eye on the "lets see if we can keep them from getting discounts" dashboard in the future. Remember 90 days to request changes/removals. Venting complete.....have to run a package out to the mailbox 🙂
